I am a special educator, both trained and educated, working towards an advanced degree in educational leadership with the goal of establishing a charter/home school for K-3 graders who struggle to learn. I am married with two children and two grandchildren who are the reason for my goals. They are bright and are being educated well, and I want that for every child. The charter school is a mission that God has assigned to me and He is preparing me for that goal. I have taught every age from adult to kindergarten in preparation of teaching young students how to become successful students. The title of the blog comes from the movie Waiting for Superman. Geoffrey Canada describes the disappointment he felt when he found out Superman wasn’t real and would not come to his rescue. I’m not waiting for Superman to come and rescue the students I plan to serve, I will teach them how to rescue themselves.
